This contemporary Mat Pilates class teaches a series of mat exercises that are based on the work of Joseph Pilates, with modern movements and biomechanics principles in mind.
In this class you will find yourself learning the basic principles of Pilates matwork and applying this knowledge to all matwork repertoire for better core stability, breathing and alignment. Props such as resistance bands or stability balls will be used at times to modify or increase the intensity of the exercises.
Consistent Pilates matwork practice helps to stretch and strengthen the body by working and connecting deeply into the body’s core, maintaining good body posture. This class is suitable for all ages and levels of ability.
