On a whim, Kat Kee went on a yoga retreat to Kerala, India in 2013. Little did she expect that to become the turning point in her yoga journey. She came back and went on to complete 200-hour teacher’s training with Dr. Venky’s Shivshakti Yoga Institute, and following that, certification courses in Backache Management (Yogic Methods), and Pre-Natal, Post-Natal and Active Birthing. Kat’s classes focuses on alignment and the effective engagement of muscles. She also encourages a mindful practice, and loves how yoga is much more than a physical practice.
Hatha Yoga typically includes the practice of asanas (yoga postures) and pranayama (breathing exercises). This is a relatively slow and gentle style that is suitable for beginners or students who prefer a more relaxed class.
This style links traditional Hatha postures into a sequence of movements that flow naturally from one to the next. This class will explore variations of sun salutations, standing and seated poses along with body balancing and inversions.
